Taryn's Ears are Pierced
So, to nonna's satisfaction, I finally took Taryn, along with Auntie Janet, and got Taryn's ears pierced this past Saturday. I was so close to chickening out, but with a little persuasion from Janet, I followed through...and now I'm glad I did. Taryn did really wonderful, a real "big" girl! She did cry, but just for a brief second, after her
second ear was done...she looks soooo cute! Little pink stones

Valentine's Day Weekend
What a fun filled Valentine's Day we had...one of Brad's past students got married on Valentine's Day and we were able to make the trip to Ft. Worth to attend. This was Taryn's second wedding, the first was her Aunt Julie's, and she did great! We sat at the back of the chapel, just in case of a hurried exit, but to our surprise, we never had to get up. The reception was full of people who just flocked to her to tell us what a cute baby we had...of course we already knew that ;) We enjoyed getting out of the house for the day and I think Taryn had fun too!

Taryn said mama!!!!! I almost thought I was hearing things, but she very clearly said mama last night! I started crying...haha...Of course, I'm sure she did not realize it, but you never know...I immediately scooped her into my arms and started raining kisses on her head...I can't imagine how my heart will feel when she says it the first time and really realizes that she's calling for me...oh, what a wonderful feeling! All of those sleepless nights are really starting to pay off....well, maybe some of them anyway...In addition to saying dada and mama now, she can say baba and ahhhh! and she makes T sounds too...so cute! We are really enjoying listening to her expanding vocabulary. She still has not sprouted any teeth yet, but that's definetely ok...

DADA
Taryn said dada on Sunday and Brad gloated! She did not know or realize what she had said, but she said it...Brad informed me that he had won, won what? well, the challenge that I'm sure all parents discuss...which will be their child's first word, mama or dada, but, I have not given up completely...when she says it and knows what she's referring too, then we'll see who the "winner" is... It was a memorable moment for us both and just another of the many milestones ahead...
