Where does the time go?

Gosh, it's already been 6 months since my last post and I can't really understand how quickly that amount of time has passed. Taryn is now 18 mths, another mile marker in her life...looking back I could not imagine being at this point in her life? I was told yesterday that I'm going to wake up one day and be attending her high school graduation! Now that's a mile stone I'm not quite ready for?!? Yikes! She's talking so much these days...her favorite phrase is "Stop It"... and she means it! Sometimes I wonder when she's telling her "babies" to "Stop It", exactly what were they doing? Hmmm??? Funny...

Brad and I are doing great...taking our first vacation in May without Taryn...Kinda nervous about that, but looking forward to it too! She will get the opportunity to spend some good quality time with both sets of her grandparents.

So far the New Year has brought alot of joy, but there have been some kinks too! I guess I just need to start expecting and accepting that. As so goes life! But I can't complain...we both have jobs, our health is good, our daughter is great and so life is good...

Our daughter is 1!

Wow, Brad and I have successfully made it through the first year of parenthood, and what an amazing year it has been. I was asked this morning if it felt like a year has passed and my honest answer was yes and no. There have definitely been some rough patches, which seemed to last a long time, but then on the flip side, Taryn has grown and changed so quickly that it is hard to believe one year has passed. She started walking around 11 months, has four teeth (3 top and 1 bottom) and is starting to show signs of serious independence (lets just say the tantrums are more frequent these days).

Her Birthday Weekend...

Brad and I took her to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco on Friday to celebrate her actual birthday and we had such a good time. God smiled down on us that day for the weather was great, not the scorching 100 degrees that it has been. Taryn's favorite part seemed to be the aquarium, where she could get right up to the exhibit and peek in. She was so curious about everything that she saw during our visit, I can't wait to take her back again. On Saturday, we had her party and what another great day that was. We celebrated among close family at our home and really enjoyed everyone that attended. Taryn loved all her gifts and her balloons, but was not to fond of her little cupcake. I don't think she really knew what to do with it...

On Sunday, we had her baptised and she behaved as good as we could have hoped for, for a toddler...Our pastor kept telling us that she was perfect...haha...she did do good, but I did have to make an exit with her during the sermon. It was such a great experience for Brad and I to bring her into a Christian promise of "Faith" for her life. She has so many wonderful years ahead of her in the church.

Our sweet little girl is 1 and we could not be happier. We had a great weekend of celebrating her first year of life and look forward to the many more years ahead!
